Leading retirement developer, Beechcroft, has secured funding from Close Brothers Property Finance for its latest development, a scheme of 45 homes, designed for the over 55s and located in West Horsley, Surrey.
As one of the UK's largest specialist development finance providers, Close Brothers Property Finance has worked alongside Beechcroft for more than 17 years, supporting the delivery of over 850 retirement homes, with a combined Gross Development Value of £500 million. This long-standing partnership has provided Beechcroft with the financial certainty needed to continue investing in its distinctive, luxury retirement communities, despite challenging market conditions.

The new retirement development marks Beechcroft’s return to West Horsley, where the company created the multi-award winning Frenchlands Gate in East Horsley, just over a decade ago.
Beechcroft has already achieved planning permission for the three-acre site, fringed with mature trees and hedgerows and the 45 new two-bedroom homes, including both houses and apartments, will be designed, built and finished to Beechcroft’s exacting standards. In addition to the beautifully landscaped setting, Beechcroft residents will have the use of an elegant communal lounge, a luxurious guest suite for visitors, allocated parking and electric vehicle charging points. An Estate Manager will be on hand to take responsibility for the maintenance of the development, including the upkeep of both private and communal gardens.
Phil Hooper, CEO of Close Brothers Property Finance, comments: "We are incredibly proud to be supporting Beechcroft. They consistently set the benchmark for luxury retirement living, creating beautifully designed homes and communities and their continued success is a testament to the quality of their product and vision for the sector. We look forward to supporting the delivery of this development and supporting Beechcroft to achieve its future growth ambitions.”
Chris Thompson, Managing Director of Beechcroft added: “We have developed a strong, collaborative partnership with Close Brothers Property Finance team and, with their continued support, we have been able to acquire sites in some of the most sought-after areas across the southern counties and to create exceptional homes, both retirement schemes and Special Project developments.”
