Women in Property Network Wine Tasting

May 30

3 min read

We were thrilled to host our fourth Women in Property event this week, an evening filled with thought-provoking discussion, meaningful connections, and a shared commitment to driving progress in the property industry.

A Panel That Sparked Conversation

The evening began with a dynamic panel discussion led by Anna Geffert of Hera Communication Strategies. Anna guided the conversation with warmth and insight, inviting our expert panellists to share their personal journeys and professional perspectives. We were honoured to welcome Xuan Meng, Founder of Cosy Hauz, Rutu Buddhdev, Managing Director of Amara Property and Phil Hooper, CEO of Close Brothers Property Finance.

Together, they explored the evolving role of women in property, the importance of inclusive leadership, and the challenges still faced across the industry.

Tackling the Big Questions

We didn’t shy away from the difficult topics. The panel and audience debated whether female-only events still have a place in today’s landscape, and whether the term “male allies” helps or hinders progress. Insights from guests including Beth Fisher, Blane Perrotton, Laura Ellam, Tanya Kamm, and Rosie Boggis added depth and nuance to the conversation.

A live poll revealed that 67% of attendees believe female-only events are both empowering and exclusionary, while 30% see them as purely empowering. What united the room was a shared belief in the importance of inclusive dialogue—ensuring men are part of the conversation and recognising that progress comes from testing, learning, and growing together.

Introducing Amelia

Adding a touch of elegance to the evening, we were joined by renowned wine expert Amelia Singer, who guided us through a tasting of exceptional wines. Her knowledge and enthusiasm brought a lively and enjoyable dimension to the event, sparking conversations and laughter around the room.

Thank You

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us, housebuilders, brokers, property professionals, and media representatives alike. The energy in the room was inspiring, and the connections made will no doubt continue to shape the future of our industry.

A special thank you to Alex Nicolaou for capturing the evening so beautifully in this video.
